Put your bait at different depths so you can figure out where in the water column the fish are.īlue is the new Color And the Notched slot Tip Drop has been a huge hit this was brought on by customer feedback when using bait-feeder reels for huge fish so the Tip Drop doesn't Drop when using big minnows.
For crappie, I will do 12" off the bottom all the way up to just under the ice. For perch, I put my minnow about 12" off the bottom. If I am using a ice stopper bobber, I place the bobber stopper in between the reel and the first eyelet, so it does not hit the ice stopper bobber. This way I can consistantly bring my bait to the same depth fish after fish. When I find the depth I want to fish, I slide the bobber stop so it sits at the water level. I use rubber bobber stops on all of my tip drop rods. The bobber will freeze to the hole, but the solution inside the bobber will allow your line to move up and down freely. If it is really cold out, and the holes are freezing fast, I put a ice stopper bobber on the line as well. I also place a bb size split shot about 5 or 6" above the treble hook.
Automatic fisherman skin#
I use a size 16 treble hook with small fathead minnows hooked just through the skin in front or underneath the dorsal fin. Reel up the fish and repeat often (hopefully).įor crappie and perch, I prefer using a 24" light action rod, spooled with 4lb mono. I then tighten the drag reel up any slack and set the hook. To set the hook I pull some line out and remove the rod from the STD. Once the rod is ready to set in my STD I loosen the drag so when I get a hit the rod goes down the flag goes up and the fish can take line. I put the slip bobber knot at the tip of the rod so after I catch a fish I just drop the line back down to the knot and have my lure at the exact same depth. I use my locator to set the spoon 9" off the structure I'm fishing. I put a small split shot sinker 9" above the spoon. I will also tip them with spikes or waxies. Depending on how aggressive the fish are. cast masters and or Swedish pimples tipped with a rose red minnow behind the dorsal fin or only the head. To start the rig set up I put a slip bobber knot on the line that can be slid up and down that i use as my depth marker. However, the involvement of a fishing net and a fishing boat in the Sokcho submarine incident makes it stand out from the others. For Crappie, Perch, White Bass, Bluegill and Walleye I Start with a 26" ultra-light Fenwick Night Hawk rod with a Pflueger reel that has 4lb mono ice line on it. In December, a semi-submersible vessel exchanged fire with South Korean ships near Yeosu and later sunk with all hands aboard in what became known as the 1998 Yeosu submersible incident. Following the 1998 Sokcho submarine incident, a dead North Korean commando and an infiltration craft were discovered near Donghae in July. The bodies of the submarine crew were buried in the Cemetery for North Korean and Chinese Soldiers.ġ998 was a year of high tension on the Korean peninsula. The submarine’s logbook noted multiple incursions into South Korean waters on previous voyages. While this equipment was not exceptional to find on a military submarine, the presence of South Korean drinks suggested that the agents had completed an espionage mission. The North Korean submarine is now in Unification Park in South KoreaĪlso discovered in the submarine were two automatic rifles, two machine guns, a shoulder-fired rocket launcher, diving equipment, oxygen tanks, military boots and hand grenades. “It appears that four men, including the commander, shot the five men to death, then committed suicide,” said the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. The five sailors who crewed the submarine were apparently executed. The bodies of nine North Koreans were recovered from the submarine. It had sunk to a depth of approximately 30 meters. On June 25, the submarine was salvaged by South Korea. The next day, the North Korean state-run Korean Central News Agency announced that a submarine had been lost in a “training accident.” It is still unclear if the submarine sunk due to damage sustained or if it was scuttled. However, the submarine sank on its way into port. The submarine was towed by the corvette back to the navy base at Donghae with its crew still inside. A corvette was promptly dispatched to intercept the North Koreans. The surfaced and disabled submarine was observed by South Korean fishermen who notified the South Korean Navy of their sighting.
